Re: [IAC#RG] Stop Meat Export, Ban Cow Slaughter & Make India Healthy

I would differ on the opinion, about meat export and cow slaughter. I guess every one must have seen cows, on roads at times being killed or maimed by the vehicular traffic. We can also find cattle eating rubbish at the garbage dumps, to simplify "no one" cares but every one wants the profit through milk or meat.
Cow has been referred to be holy animal and has religious sentiments attached to it.
If we look at times when settlers we settling along the indus river and civilization was expanding animals were being domesticated cows, goats, ox, sheeps and horses for the purpose of agriculture and as a  source of proteins.

Meat was used since vedic times for sacrifices and it included goats, sheeps, cows, bulls and horses.  Yagas with animal sacrifices were being performed and the slaughtered animal was regarded as holy food, which was distributed and cooked. The meat was integral part of the culture since the beginning of the civilisation.
However the concern is " Not" to eat beef or not to eat beef. The concern is to  why not rest the poor animal who in any case will be end being hit by a vehicle or eating rubbish.
I strongly feel that ancient religious practice's  need to be validated with scientific findings and sound reasoning.

The disbalances which we have created are resulting in the downfall of not our health but future of our next generation.

India, a country where eating meat particularly beef is a sensitive religious issue , has become the biggest meat exporter in the world beating the Brazil. Data of ministry of Food Processing shows that India exported 1.89 million tonnes of beef ( larger part in buffalo meat ) in 2012 - 2013 which was 50% increase over last five years.

As far as earnings from meat export are concerned , it touched to 21,000 crore in 2012 - 2013. India has major markets in USA,Europe, Gulf and South Asian countries.

Even the US Department of Agriculture ( USdA ) has acknowledged that the Indian government has played a vital role in enhancing meat and meat products exports. Uttar Pradesh is the biggest producer of export oriented meat while Kerala is the biggest consumer domestically. Cow slaughter is banned all over the country except Kerala, West Bengal and the North Eastern states.

In general meat and particularly beef has become an important foreign exchange earner in India among the agriculture based commodity after Basmati rice with 31% increase in quantity and 52 % rise in value terms during 2013 - 2014.According to figures of Agriculture & Processed Food Products Export Development Authority ( APEDA ) the beef export totaled 1449759 tonnes worth of Rs. 26458 crore lat year. Re: [IAC#RG] Kejriwal's dilema

Goodmornong mr. Roy
I agree with you, that AAP needs to go through a make over. When AAP was in the making stage, I had questioned them via FB, were they equipped for governance?and they had taken offence to it. in politics, you have to be thick skinned yet absorbant . You have to deal with a very diverse population. One cannot afford to be egoist, touchy or stubborn. They mistook delhi win , which wad wave driven, as consensus driven. And since it was as unexpected to them as to all othets, they lost their bslance. Instead of following certain compulsary protocals of governance, they continued behaving as activists. Bharti should have been more discreet in his behaviour. And instead of reprimanding him, the entire team was lead to a stage show. Ridiculous. The team sure needs an overhaul. Agree with you.learn the art of consensus organizing to booth management. You will stay rooted. All the best. Regards.

Dear Ms. Sinha

Let me say that I agree with your analysis to a large extent. At the
same time we have to be PRAGMATIC.

The Govt. of Delhi is presently being run by a LG in an an OPAQUE and
CORRUPT way by the "syndicate". Citizens have no accountability
because they are UNREPRESENTED in babu-raj. The degree of corruption
is OUT-OF-CONTROL. Inflation is OUT-OF-CONTROL to the extent that
DSIDC liquor vends sales have dropped by 60% because poor people can't
afford their daily liquor, so CRIME is out of control. (We have
excellent grass root info)

BJP is showing that they are incapable of governance. AAP has already
shown that they were even more incapable of good governance, and
Congress has shown that they are only very capable of CORRUPT
GOVERNANCE which bankrupt's the State exchequers.

So, the only party which shows chances (and very small chances) of
"hope" is the AAP, but they have to undergo a "make over" and eschew
"personality cults" if they are not to implode and self-destruct. The
iron is hot if AAP knows how to strike, or else Congress may walk off
with Delhi.

Or else let BJP form a Govt !!!!

Re: [IAC#RG] SOME INDIANS BEHAVE LIKE BEASTS

When we are out of our home, we do not know what our family members are doing presently. I think, all human beings accept this.

Molestation of women and girls can only be stopped when each and every parent teach their children about the importance of women. How can we judge a person(Modi) with numerous responsibilities on his shoulders.  Its not Modi, who will teach all this to our youngsters. If possible start teaching our and your youngsters rather than
writing all nonsense.

It turns one's stomach to hear news that  men  teachers molest the girl students even inside the school premises and fathers and brothers rape daughters and sisters. One wonders as to what is happening to the men folk in India, who are nothing but beasts.

Such condition is a direct reflection on the quality of governance that we have in India today and the type of people who sit as ministers , parliamentarians and legislators. What these beasts among men need are severe and life long punishment, which is the responsibility of the government to inflict on them.  But, some ministers laugh away at such incidents and condemn the media who expose these incidents and thus show that these politicians and ministers could themselves be the beasts, as they  treat these incidents light heartedly.

While  the politicians and the  ministers stand condemned , one person who comes to the mind of everyone immediately is the Prime Minister Mr. Narendra Modi.  What is he doing ? Why is he remaining silent ? Why is he not condemning these incidents in the strongest terms and ask the officials and  police to put down such incidents with all the force at their command. He is the Prime Minister and he has the duty and responsibility to protect the helpless girls and women.

By his silence , millions of people who voted for B JP government only based on expectations and faith  in Mr. Narendra Modi feel  helpless  and frustrated. One hopes Mr. Modi will wake up to his responsibility.

Re: [IAC#RG] SUPREME COURT CRYING FOR JUSTICE

What we have seen is that the body for appointment of Judges to S.C. & H.C
,whether pre 1993-1998 or thereafter have both failed to satisfy the people including intelligentia ,the honest purpose which was to be served.
The only solution is to create a fresh 'Authority'.The purpose, modalities, criteria should all be well defined and written. It is not the'Authority' but the persons who man the'Authority' matter most.Who will appoint person to this'Authority? Again we face a difficult question.
We are reading in news papers wherein appointments are being made by authorities in violation of the guidelines issued by S.C.or by ignoring the established practice & procedure. The recent examples are about the
controversial appointments to NHRC & to State Information Commission of a
State.

A DOUBLE FACED MANOHAR PARRIKAR

By Aires Rodrigues

While as the Leader of Opposition Manohar Parrikar wanted and exercised all his democratic rights. He squatted on the highways blocking the traffic and had even threatened to gate crash to drive away the Casinos parked in the River Mandovi. Now that he is in power, he cannot see his own earlier acts as being holy. Now he wants every Goan to be at his best behavior and silently watch the misdeeds of his government. This however, will not just happen regardless of the threats and intimidation that Manohar Parrikar may rant. He may be concerned only about his Chief Minister's chair but we need to care for Goa. The battle has to go on regardless of the price we may have to pay.

Rattled that various acts of corruption and nepotism by his government have been exposed through the Right to Information Act, Manohar Parrikar has been stifling the transparency law after having conveniently kept Goa without a Lokayukta so that the corrupt can have a field day.

Manohar Parrikar has shown scant respect for the Judiciary and will do everything possible to muzzle and manipulate the press. During his earlier stint as Chief Minister, Mr. Manohar Parrikar had on 24th September 2003 issued a legal notice threatening editors of all newspapers. So a decade down the road nothing has changed. Does the dog's tail ever straighten?.

After having conveniently used most  NGO's, activists and habitual litigants to maneuver his way to  power, now Manohar Parrikar finds they are a hurdle as misdeeds of his government are coming under the scanner.

If there is any extortion or blackmailing in the name of activism there are already enough laws in place to take care of the malaise which Chief Minister Manohar Parrikar can invoke by first putting his own house in order and clear the rot that is emanating from the Advocate General's office where through back room deals the advocates are appearing for and against the government. Just visit the High Court for a day and public will witness the Advocate General  leading his brigade of juniors and so-called former juniors standing for or against each other and strangely, without even sufficient independent practice, appearing for the big fish, in heavy stake-matters. Extortion or blackmail if any needs to be probed?

To come to power Manohar Parrikar made a lot of fake promises. On all his U turns less said the better. Not a paisa of that 35,000 crore illegal mining scam has or will ever be recovered while all that Manohar Parrikar's loose talk is to keep the Goans entertained. To secure his chair he made promises even to his MLAs and party workers of posts and positions which he knew he would not be able to deliver. He had promised Zero tolerance to corruption but the rampant corruption which has ebbed to the peak is there for all to see. The manner in which the erratic and eccentric Manohar Parrikar who is fast losing his marbles is functioning, he may well go down in the history books as the worst ever Chief Minister that Goa has seen.

Activist priest Fr. Eremito Rebello had not long ago said "the sooner Parrikar goes, the better for Goa".

The writing on the wall is very clear. Is your time up, Mr. CM? Why not for the sake of Goa cook up a way to get out and go to the Centre?

Re: [IAC#RG] Kejriwal's dilema

Dear Dua sahab

Where would AAP get money for all their subsidised socialism in Delhi
? From the same place that Congress got it - liquor sales and stamp
duty on property transactions.

Both sources are seriously down, 'tijori khali hain', GoNCTD salaries
are not being paid on time now, and Congress is only too happy to sit
on sidelines until MARKET recovers in due course.

AAP will have to learn not to pander to its bania / trader sponsors
and design a socialist market economy for Delhi which DISCOURAGES
CONSUMPTION and makes citizens stay within budget (live within their
means) with equality for all..

In other words --> NO SUBSIDIES.

Re: [IAC#RG] Kejriwal's dilema

Dear Ms.

Friends,

No religion is "worth its salt" if it colludes / promotes communalism, death & destruction.
PM-level leadership is NOT comparable, based on 10 YEARS and by mere 75 DAYS .... Rape, abducting, and denigrating women with ANY kind / sort of down-rating or down-grading ought to get dealt with as per our umpteen rules and laws.
Application of the law is called for NOT mere reference to the Article & Clause!
We in India, generally, have become adept at that, shamelessly.

Burning of incense or ringing the temple bells, or bowing piously before the God-head will not provide us the heavenly bliss. We too do the same, religiously, BUT implement the key steps essential to respect the young and the seniors in the family, in the neighbourhood, and through the RWAs one is a member of + save water, NOT splash it away with  hose-pipes in washing the car/s or driveway or the top-floor. Use the bucket & mug. Get rid of showers for bathing, use the bucket.

With Independence, we ought to have become constructive and loyal citizens -- NOT the kind of a nation where tomatoes, potatoes and onions go out of reach, coal is imported etc., etc., & the governance connives at all such wrong acts.  Finally: A culture that does not RESPECT the WOMAN or the seniors  --  will have a lot to rue in time to come ....

Peace.

RE: [IAC#RG] SOME INDIANS BEHAVE LIKE BEASTS

The misgovernence, lack of direction, wrong economic policies, the shameful sight of its members falling at the feet of a one time Italian bar-maid in the name of a decadent dynasty all made me a staunch supporter of Modi. But the main threat posed to our country now is not from the sporadic communal flare ups but the undue influence of Hindi linguistic fanatics who do not recognise there are equally old languages in the country and men who turn our forests and wildlife as expendable commodities. In all the cow belt states, three language formula has been given a go by.Many Hindi protogonists even now are not aware that there are four different languages in south, the people from these states being described as Madrassis. They do not want English. As far as environment and wildlife are concerned,we have a central minister who proclims himself as a environmentalist and goes on demolishing every edifice that protects our envirinment.Recent case is that of Indian Wildlife Board which is now stuffed with all Government employees. And this is the board that protects our sanctuaries from mining and ither vested interest lobbies.

He should have made clear and unequivocal statements on matters like 1. death of a muslim boy in Pune in the matter of face book entry about Shivsena Chief and Shivaji 2.behaviour of shiv sena MPs in Maharashtra sadan 3. statement of BJP leader from Telangana about Sania Mirza 4 Praveen Togadia,s statements  etc. Unless he condemns them openly and catagorically his image will suffer seriously. In fact losing all 3 by elections in Uttarakhand should send him a message....H C Gandhi

                                                                                                                               SOME INDIANS BEHAVE LIKE BEASTS

It is extremely disgusting to read repeatedly the nauseating news that even girls as young as three years are being abused by men, sometimes as old as sixty years.
