Bangalore DHNS: The dilapated community center at lakshmidevinagar would not have seen renovation if not for the efforts of women's Forum of Bangalore Slum.
After Repeated efforts to get the Community Center restored failed , Members of the Forum decided to take aid of Right To information Act. It was then Revealed that Rs 2.65 lakh had been Sanctioned by the karnataka Slum Clearance Board for Taking up Renovation work on the Community center
Armed with the RTI Reply the Forum members approached the Contractor to Whom the Contract had been Awarded and Sought to Know the reason for the delay >pushed to the wall , the contractor expedited the task and completed the repair work .
the success story of use of RTI to bring Justice to Public narrated by tulasi and mary of the Forum at a press conference by Organised Coalition of Civil Society Organisations in Bangalore.
