Dear Mr Singhal
You have posed some very good questions.
1) At this group "rti_india" we try and ensure that only unique
messages are posted. First we attempt to educate our members to
only post unique content to the group, then we take more
active measures - as you have experienced. "Cross Posting"
ie. sending the same (or similar message) to multiple groups of
which you are a member may result in suspension of your posting
privileges to this group.
2) We have many members here (many of whom are Public servants,
PIOs, FAAs and even a few ICs). They value their privacy, so
there is no way we shall disclose their details for you to add
to your contact book.
3) I would actually advise you to restrict yourself to just 2
groups - "rti_india" and "hum janenge". This is sufficient for
most people. On "rti_india" we have serious discussions, on "hum
janenge" you get all the "news" about RTI. You can safely
unsubscribe from "anti-corruption", "ncpri" and "rti4empowerment"
without any significant effect.
4) If you want to participate in real-time discussion on the
basics of RTI-ing, then you can join the "rti-india.org" forums
which is located here. Karira, J.P.Shah, Sid Mishra etc run it.

As a member of Facebook, I can know the profile of the Facebook groups and its members by just clicking on their names. Is it not possible to do so in yahoogroups.
> (ii)Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Can I add contacts from yahoo group mails along with their profiles on my contact list. I know that I can add âFromâ contact with email address to my contact list but not his profile and that it is not possible to do so from âToâ contacts.
> (iii)Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Many of us members would also be members of the aforesaid or other such groups. When I send any email to the above groups, I receive as many copies in my own inbox. Similiarly, other members would also be receiving many copies of the same emails depending on the no of groups of which they are members. Is their no way that yahoo could filter the emails sent to various groups so that members receive only one copy irrespective of the no of goups of which they are members. On Facebook, you get the message only once irrespective of the no of groups of which you are members.
> (iv)Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Finally, kindly inform me if there are other good yahoo groups involved with RTI matters for my info.
