For information of fellow activists
The DoPT is circulating a note to the cabinet for approval concerning
a minor amendment to the pathbreaking Right to Information Act 2005.
The amendment proposes that documents accompanying cabinet proposals
shall not be liable for disclosure under the Right to Information once
the decision is taken, although the decisions themselves may be
accessible to applicants subject to other exemptions. At present the
material on which the decision was taken is required to be disclosed
after the decision.
Informed sources say that this amendment is required because of a
recent Central Information Commission judgment.
The Right to Information Act 2005, is the biggest fraud inflicted upon on the citizens since the Nehru-Gandhi family.
