Raise in salary and perks is the only issue on which all political parties are unanimous and the motiion is passed unanimously without a single vote in its oppostion.
Even after this, most of the MPs claim that they are humble servant of the public as if they r not getting anything in return.
This is the only reason that every leader, selfless or motivated, is in the line for the ticket to become MP or MLA.
Once a leader rightly said "Paisa khooda to nahin par khooda se kuch cum bhi nahin." Public has shown him his right place and most of the citizens have by now forgotton his name.
The same will be the fate of other corrupt leaders.
