[IAC#RG] Honest Indians : first results of IAC's opinion poll

Dear Ajay

Thanks for forwarding the results of the first 100 votes of IAC's Honesty survey. The results are an eye-opener into the mind-set IAC's membership and its opinions based on geographical location (from IP addresses).

This informal survey has to be taken with many disclaimers.

1)  It is limited to largely English knowing and internet connected "activists", "civil society", "ESM", "students" and "professionals" type of persons.

2) Since IAC is apolitical many of the BJP, Aam Aadmi and Congress types have been excluded from this survey as they had been unsubscribed from IAC.

My personal raw (oe. unscientific) Conclusions:

1)  Congress is losing badly in IAC's upper-middle class PLU "people like us" especially in Northern India, but has done very well in South and also so-so in Maharashtra.

2) IAC's PLU Women have all turned against the "corrupt" ladies like Sonia, Jayalalita etc. Mamta Banerjee has made a clean sweep of this segment with strong showing from all over India.

3) Aam Aadmi Party is splitting BJP and Congress votes to a larger than expected degree, but it seems AAP is eating more into BJP votes based on geographical trend.

4) Baba Ramdev may seem to be a strong starter (doing better than even NaMo ???) , but we need to see how many of the "Others" votes are actually for him or if these votes are a general rejection of all names on the ballot.

5) Nitish Kumar and Mamta Banerjee getting around 55% of the votes would indicate that IAC's subscriber base is now strongly APOLITICAL and trend following reflecting IAC's demographic grassroot strong-holds.

Dear Friends

Thanks for so many responses (76) within 12 hours.

Here are some preliminary results

QUESTION : Who is India's most honest person.

1) Nobody, so far, is prepared to state that Sonia Gandhi, Mayawati, Jayalalitha, Mukesh Ambani, Barkha Dutt or Altmas Kabir (CJI) is India's most honest person.

2) 1 person (from Holland ???) thinks that Mr. Mulayam Singh Yadav is India's most honest person.

3) 3 people - 4% (from Maharashtra, Kolkatta and Karnataka) think Arvind Kejriwal is India's most honest person.

4) 5 people - 7% (incl. from Haryana, Surat, Kolkatta, Karnataka) think Narendra Modi is India's most honest person.

Take the poll for yourself

For IAC's members,

We are testing out various polling scripts.

Please help us by taking this sample poll and suggest any changes to make it more user friendly or report if it does not work for you.
