[rti_india] Municipal Commissioner - Stray Dogs Makarba Road Vejalpur Ahmedabad Gujarat India - Seriously affecting the lives of the citizens..

Dear Sir,

Your kind attention is invited to the menace of stray dogs that is safety hazards to the residents and also seriously disturbing the citizens at night time when they continuously bark like anything disturbing our sleep.

This nuisance is terribly affecting our lives and leaving some residents disturbed and crazy for which I have come across no. of complaints from the residents of the area.

In this regard, to stop the serious nuisance, it is requested to:
  • Explore possibility of adoption of these stray dogs as pet dogs by dog lover citizens who should keep the adopted dogs in their residences so that other citizens are not disturbed / not affected. That should reduce the strength of the roaming stray dogs on the roads.

  • Please ensure that all the Civic Centres of Ahmedabad Municipal Corporation register complaints on catching stray dogs and the entire population of more than 50 lakh is not made to register complaints only at one office of AMC that is on the outskirts of Ahmedabad and not easily accessible.

  • Catch these stray dogs and keep at one place away from AMC area.

  • Separate female dogs and keep them at one place away from AMC area to reduce further high level of production of stray dogs.

  • Sincerely implement the programme of stopping fertility of these dogs that is reportedly multiplying at an alarming rate affecting the citizens.

  • Please seek advise of the veterinary Doctors and accordingly implement ways and means to reduce terrible barking of these stray dogs.
In the meantime, please arrange to act on my repeated complaints filed with Dog Squad of AMC on phone no. 07932984152 during the last about six months.

Kindly let me know of the action taken on priority on this grievance filed in larger public interest of saving lives of citizens from dog bites; from dogs running behind two-wheeler riders making even fatal accidents and also disturbing the peace at night time by horrible barking.
