Dear Lokesh,
Al alternative view.
I appreciate how tough it must have been to survive in an apolitical forum with such worship in your heart. I also am sad to bring further undesirable views.
Modi - or for that matter BJP have zero clout in the south, north east and Kashmir. Modi has only enough support to be a nuisance in the BJP - if he had a clear majority, BJP wouldn't be dithering like that.
A leader who needs an ad agency to connect with the masses is clearly incompetent. A leader who remains controversial even after using heavy professional promotion is beyond useless. The only reason Modi must continue to struggle and BJP must tolerate is that if he sinks and the activists get their teeth into him, he may take rest of BJP affiliates down with him. Don't mistake this for anything relevant on a National level. He and Swamy can't really ditch BJP as the whispered rumors go either, because then winning elections gets even further away. His lack of ability to compromise has literally driven BJP into a ditch over the last decade.
Frankly, I don't think he is a big problem, since he has such a mega image issue, that he cannot risk further crap in his name. So I'm not worried about Muslims, but I am worried about his heavy spending, lack of foresight on debt and I think this is the last thing India needs.
However, to each his own. I am not voting for anyone unless i actually like someone.
I would like to see a govt of AAP+CPI(*)+Loksatta+BJD+what-have-you (but not SP, BSP, TMI) kick both BJP and Congress out of that important building for the country. Anyone, really. Anyone better than entrenched power cults. They may become corrupt over time, but for now, they are cleaner out of lack of opportunity, if nothing else.
Disclosure: I neither love nor hate nor vote any party. I'd like whoever it is to f***ing govern instead of indulging in pi$$ing contests..
Vidyut
