[IAC#RG] The end of Congress

Such an epoch making event is taking place: it is probably, the end of the Nehru-Gandhi family in politics.

It is also the end of Congress and its 134 year old legacy...the party will either split, come up in a new form, or wither away.

It is officially, a bloodless coup...the end of the Nehruvian State and the formal beginning of a Sanghi State...even the take over by the East India Company, of India's rule from the Mughal Emperor Shah Alam, in 1803, was not so blatant: till 1857, when it was abolished by a great revolt of the Indian people, the British East India Company (BEIC) did not formally abolish the Mughal Emperor. Instead, the Company ruled in the Emperor's name. The 1803 seizure of power also, was not bloodless. BEIC entered the Red Fort, only after defeating Daulat Rao Scindia, the Maratha protector of the Mughals, in the bloody battle of Laswari.

It is perhaps, symptomatic of the new regime we are under, that mainstream press has not even published the full text of the seminal letter written by Rahul Gandhi, the outgoing President of the once mighty Indian National Congress...
