Re: [IAC#RG] PUBLIC NOTICE: Fake "India Against Corruption" 'volunteers'

Dear CA Modi,

Refer the public notice and your email. IAC notes your sarcastic tone and using words like "story". As an AAP volunteer you should be conscious of your guest status on IAC's list - especially since you don't know the facts.

1  We wrote that Anna was never "member" of IAC. We also wrote that IAC never supported or demanded "Lokpal" Bill. It is incorrect to say that IAC opposes anti-corruption legislation in principle.

2  Sarbajit is on all-India tour for IAC's grassroot campaigns and is addressing many small meetings of former IAC volunteers to see how / if they can be accommodated into IAC's ideology. While touring Sarbajit does not use internet and of course he will reply to you when he is back as he usually does.

3  Regarding Sarbajit's remark about "Anna no more being a part of IAC" it would be better if you gave the specific email or emails with dates where Sarbajit said this. We can say that at the time of transition phase of IAC campaign between Sep-Nov 2012 name/email of Anna was given to Sarbajit's team by "Team Arvind" which show Anna only as an IAC "volunteer". The lists of such former IAC volunteers runs into 4 lakh names or email IDs, out of which about 70,000 were actually approached to be connected online to IAC, and of whom about 25,000 are subscribed to this list and about 8,000 others to another list.

4  On 1st Jan 2013 the IAC movement's Charter drafted by Sarbajit and the core drafting committee was approved by IAC lists and showed the future direction of the IAC. A few days later around 15.Jan.2013 "Team Anna" formally announced in media they would not be part of IAC or use IAC brand name but would carry on their own programs as "BVJA".

5  IAC family has always wished BVJA and Annaji well and has never stood in the way between cooperation between like-minded APOLITICAL groups or their volunteers which are fighting corruption. IAC has also always encouraged volunteers to join with / support Anna or Baba Ramdev or any iconic personality of their choice if they cannot accept IAC's ideology and carry on their struggle under those other iconic banners. Annaji's office at Ralegan Siddhi has also clarified on this email list around 9.Aug.2013 that Annaji's priorities are now different from IAC's for "focus on Janlokpal, Right to Reject, Right to Recall, Farmers problems, Change in Education in System". IAC immediately reciprocated and acknowledged Annaji's contributions and on 3.Sept.2013 the IAC's Core Committee meeting minutes specifically records that Annaji's name will always be preeminent among all IAC's volunteers etc.

6  About IAC brand name. It is true that Arvind for a brief time between Oct-Dec 2010 was informally indicated to use IAC "brand name" for a proposed joint anti-corruption "campaign" using trigger of CWG-2010 scams. However, when it became known that certain elements within "Team Arvind" were actually proxies for the corrupt beneficiaries of CWG scam to promote hollow Lokpal Bills as the solution (instead of more radical methods which IAC advocates) even the said informally conveyed  permission was revoked on 9.Dec.2010 when IAC came to know from media that 2 letters were sent in name of IAC to Prime Minister (and CJI). It is another "story" that these letters somehow do not seem to be part of PMO records :-) and were only released by Kiran Bedi and Agnivesh to fool the citizens of India that there was some IAC anti-corruption campaign into CWG scams.

7  The entire facts (not stories) about these past episodes are on the official website of IAC ie.  http://indiaagainstcorruption.org.in/  and it is a fact that for some time in Nov. / Dec 2012 Sarbajit may not have had all the information about internal events / dynamics within so-called "Team Anna" and "Team Arvind" which took place between Oct. 2010 and Sept. 2012. Sarbajit himself was only reinducted into IAC campaign in Oct 2012, and on 26 Nov 2012 the unsanctioned / unapproved IAC campaign which was started by Arvind was dissolved / extinguished when Sarbajit's new team took that rogue campaign over formally.

8  The IAC website has a distinguished and highly qualified team of "corruption fighters" as its editorial board. Everyone can thus be assured that the essential facts on the IAC website are  backed up by independent sources and are not "stories". If anything is incorrect on website please point out the same to us.
