I am alarmed that a good number of friends whom I know to be of well-formed and mature minds now taking to an over-restraining attitude against our Judiciary whom I know to be very capable and of good judgement. I firmly request that this be stopped to not allow one of our best and capable professions to flounder, regards, Cdr. Hirak Nag.

Subject: [IAC#RG] JUDGES SHOULD BE ABSOLUTELY ABOVE BOARD
To ensure people's total faith in the Independence of the Judiciary, Judges are expected to be moral exemplars of morality and ethics as they have pledged to uphold and defend that realm. There can be no dividing line between a Judge's personal life and the official one.
The private lives of Judges is wide open to public scrutiny. What they do in their private life matters and does impact their responsibility as Judges. Can they be ethical in public if they are dishonorable in private? Their private life reveals more about morals than anything else.
It is imperative that a Judge should never entertain a lawyer with whom he or she may be having an affair with. To put it very bluntly it should be a straight refusal in bed, if not an upright recusal in Court.
The French Nobel Prize winning Author and Philosopher Albert Camus had rightly said "A man without ethics is a wild beast loosed upon this world".
The 7th President of United States of America Andrew Jackson had also then so very rightly said "All the rights secured to the citizens under the Constitution are worth nothing, and a mere bubble, except guaranteed to them by an independent and virtuous Judiciary"
Justice should not only be done, but also seen to be done!
