Re: [IAC#RG] No political party has resolve to eliminate reservations

Dear Shri Mathur

Your suggestions are deeply appreciated. However, the issue of discriminatioin in society versus the havoc to the nation caused by reservation first has to be delved into.

IMHO, it is very unlikely that reservation would be scrapped by democratic / Constitional processes or through the Supreme court. These are time sinks and cul-de-sacs to be avoided.

Scrapping reservations needs a civil war .The govt knows it,hence their token 10% placebo to delay the inevitable.

I can make starting pitch.
We need to be equipped with all cse laws on the subject and existing state of affairs
wrt to reservations,countrywide.
The global scenario is also required to be known well.
The complete transcript of the debate in Constituent Assembly on the subject, too, is needed.
The subject can't be studied in any manner other than as a serious research work.
The findings would help initiate,if necessary, evidence-based constitutional amendment.
Also proper crafting of roles and responsibilities of different stakeholders.
Lets not delay even for a moment in this regard.
Best wishes.

If there is one thing which these 2019 elections expose, it is that no major political party has the resolve to publicly oppose caste, sex or religion based reservations and demand immediate scrapping of all reservations for employment, representation or admissions based on these criteria.
