Re: [IAC#RG] True Secularism

There is a mistaken belief that recognition of a difference is discrimination. That is not true, or calling me a woman would be misogyny.

The census recording the religion of people is not the same as treating people differently because of their religion. It is the latter that needs eradicated.

Also, "equality" is not about serving everyone the same plate of lunch regardless of whether they are a breastfed infant or her grandfather. Equality is about equal right to thrive and to not be discriminated against. This means that the baby will get milk, the toothless grandfather will get soft food, the diabetic will get sugar free food and the hard working woman of the house and the labouring man of the house will get enough protein and carbohydrates. Or whatever. Hope that makes sense. Equality is not about not intervening and leaving the bully to grab all he can, but equality is about intervening to make sure that all have equal access to the opportunity.

While I am not particularly attached to records of religion, considering the state of religious disharmony and discrimination against minorities, statistics can be vital in spotting problematic situations before they grow beyond solutions.

If we want to practice secularissm it is required that
1) Religion should not be mentioned in Census records.
2)Any Govt record should not mention about individual religion.
3) Practice or choice of religion to be left free  absoiutely to individual.
4)Everyone to be protected
