Post: "indiaresists@lists.riseup.net"Prime Minister Narendra Modi is a good talker and a master in rhetoric theatrical blabbering. But the nation has now realized this and will not be fooled anymore.
Narendra Modi has been merrily jetting across the globe while our country has ebbed to dire straits. And more importantly while eroding the autonomy of even the Reserve Bank, Election Commission and the CBI, Narendra Modi and the BJP have ruptured the secular fabric of our great nation. Even the Independence of the Judiciary has been trampled upon.
Our India must wholeheartedly and selflessly unite against the deviously Communal, Corrupt and very Divisive BJP. Time to politically trash the BJP to restore our country's Secular fabric that the founding Fathers of the Constitution had so selflessly and dedicatedly toiled for.

Re: [IAC#RG] A BJP MUKT BHARAT IS THE ONLY WAY FORWARD
Modi is a legitimately elected MP made PM by due process for 5 years and it is for the people at large to support him where ever possible, while the opposition doing their home work to replace him by that due process at appropriate times! I found that if this government do anything, even from the first day of coming to power, people opposed it and branded it saying that what is done is to capture the vote bank! Yes of course! They will do all that legitimate thing possible to retain power and they should do like any other! They should do what all are possible for the welfare of the country and people till the last day in power notwithstanding what the opposition would say!
I am a senior citizen born before independence and have had the privilege of experiencing all PMs. and their ministries! Earlier things were happening but now one can see things, immense at that, being done for the long time benefits!
Politicians and bureaucrats do not find their profession lucrative as the anti corruption measures appear to stop their yearning for that as a imagined lavish life style looks to be at stake- means for illegal earnings are uncertain!
Assuming without admitting that Modi has had criminal records (though he is exonerated from all) we should introspect looking at Saint Valmiki, who is being worshiped today, was a robber and murderer but still found a place of pride in our scriptures!
My humble estimate is that there is no leader in the political doldrums as versatile as Modi and we should all tire him by giving more and more work for the good of the country and its people!

We have taken freedom for granted. We've been bought off by the "convenience" of living. Except, living is convenient only for a few people. I don't think India was secular ever. We've had our terrible differences. Religious differences, caste differences, sect differences, regional differences..... We've grown up seeing valid comedy as making fun of someone with a strong regional accent in cinema. Strong regional accents are actually stereotyped as orthodox or stupid.
But at least, we were in the process of moving in the right direction. When confronted with inequalities and injustices that exist, progress may have been slow, but as a country, overall, we did not brazen them out as the correct scheme of things.
Today, the complacency and sense of entitlement among privileged citizens is at an all time high. At the same time, the number of those who can thrive with such privilege is narrowly shrinking. Thoughtless superiority is being seen as righteousness, which paves the path for manipulators to feed narratives of hate to large groups of people that lets them feel superior and powerful over smaller groups or less powerful people. Of course, this is an emotional high with absolutely no tangible or material benefit to anyone. The manipulators lose nothing, share not an ounce of their well being or prosperity with those whose anger they harvest for profit.
This keeps the country occupied with a relentless cycle of hatred, responding to that hatred. When false perceptions are created with mass media, it is an uphill struggle to bring truth to light and by the time exhausted people have established the falsity, it is simple to toss a new provocation to occupy people with anger and keep them busy focusing on those who have absolutely no power to harm or help them, while those actually harming, who should have been helping, continue the exploitation of the country behind this smokescreen.
I don't see BJP as a political party at all. It is a criminal cartel. At the same time, there are no honorable alternatives either. At best, the current political situation is one of fighting to allow democratic choice once more, rather than people having power to choose between two viable options. At this point, the erosion of freedom itself is so severe, that possibly the only reason BJP could lose is because they NEED to get out of power in order to stop things from getting too obvious - and of course, because the opportunities for loot are shrinking along with the economy.
Things are going to get a lot worse before they get better. I would love to hate the supporters of the Modi cartel as an easy target, but frankly, it wouldn't be a lot different from what they are up to, hating non-BJP people for some or the other reason. Fact of it is that they are as much the victims as those they target. They don't have a separate prosperous country to live in once the cartel is done stripping this one. Mass media and brainwashing, particularly the kind of organized and targeted brainwashing going on is very hard to combat, and the fact of it is that the average citizen lacks the IQ to see through the extremely complicated fog of propaganda.
Minorities are the canaries in the mine. The vulnerable will suffer before those less vulnerable, but a toxic situation will eventually destroy all.
