Persons learn languages if they have to use it wirh Government Courts for jobs for marketing and for infotainment. Its a medium of communication.
I travelled from Kashmir to Mahabalipuran. Potato and Hindi are common. Gandhiji's Rashtra Bhasha made Kerala 100% literate. The nurses in Jodhpur speak better Hindi than Marwadi woman. I was surprised to find Marwadi Speaking person in Ooty a trader settled there speaking fluent Tamil.
And now foreigners learning Hindi because India is a big global market.
Persons learnt Farsi specially Mathurs Kayasth because it was a court language. They used to say in Urdu Padhe Farsi Beche tel dekho yeh kismet ka khel
Now those who talk about mi marathi mumbaikar talk to their children in English. Marathi is getting a back seat in their household. Even domestic servants send their children in English school because BPO jobs are in English.
Now Filmi Hindi that is Hinglish with Urdu spicement is becoming a street smart lingo and Amitabh Bachchan is trying to Teach literary Hindi to those who want to become 5 Crore Pati.
So lets not fight. If you stay where you cant do without language of that Area you pick it up in THIRTY DAYS.
CHEERS THREE LANGUAGE AS PER YOUR NEED. HINDI EBGLISH REGIONAL ANS SMART ONES EVEN A FOREIGN ONE OR TWO.

surpass Indians in proficiency in English.
At present the link-language unifying all Indians is ENGLISH.

मुझे इस बात से समस्या नहीं की किसी प्रान्त में हिंदी नहीं बोली जाती यदि हम चाहे तो मातृ भाषा सीख सकते हैं . मातृभाषा के निर्धारण का आधार पर लम्बी चर्चा हो सकती है . मगर गुलामी के प्रतिको को ढोते रहना कहाँ तक जायज है??रही बात संसद की तो संसद में क्या होता है ये पूरा हिन्दुस्थान देखता है विश्व बैंक और यूरोप की दलाली पर चलने वाली संसद है ये .. आज तक अंग्रेजी कानून के अल्पविराम और पूर्ण विराम नहीं बदल पाए संसद के कर्णधार तो संसद की भाषा कैसे बदलेंगे ...यदि सिर्फ आधार बोले जाने का है तो कृपया मार्गदर्शन करे हिन्दुस्थान के कितने प्रतिशत लोग अंग्रेजी जानते हैं की इसे विचार सम्प्रेषण का माध्यम बना जाये।। इससे ज्यादा तो मराठी या तमिल जानने वाले होंगे ..आशुतोष

हाँ तो बंधु भाषा से भारतीयता का क्या संबंध है ? इस हिसाब से कई प्रांत जहां उन प्रांतो की भाषा बोली ओर लिखी जाती है वो तो भारत के ही नहीं हैं ? ऑर हिन्दी ऑर अँग्रेजी दोनों ही संसद की भाषा है भाई मेरे तो सभी को हक़ है किसी भी भाषा मे लिखने के लिए ऑर कोई ऑर नहीं मेरे से ही बात करें
