I fully agree.

I am not a cinema goer. I have not  visited any cinema theatre for over thirty years now. I do not believe that the cinemas are big contributors to the Indian social or cultural advancement and I strongly think that they are in the clutches of  business people who make money  with least consideration for the impact of the cinemas on society and youth.

Still, I feel highly concerned about the agitation against screening of Viswaroopam cinema, particularly after it has been cleared by the Censor Board.

Of late, it has become a regular practice for one group or the other, however small it may be ,to prevent a particular event from taking place or cinema being screened and even against visit of sportsmen.  Such groups are in microscopic minority  but consist of dare devil persons who can  readily involve themselves in violent activities.

Inevitably, the state and central governments succumb to the threat of violence from these groups and yield to their demands . In the process ,such  groups are becoming more confident and reckless and  even more demanding.

The governments all over India are becoming weak,  as most of the politicians running the   governments are widely believed to be corrupt , dishonest and  lack credibility. Obviously, they do not have the necessary moral leadership  attributes, which are necessary to call the bluff of these violent groups who are now doing great damage to the fibre and fabric of India.

Agitation against Viswaroopam   is one more instance of a violent group confronting  weak   and corrupt governments.
