Re: [IAC#RG] PIL dismissed. subsidised alcohol to Defence remains.

Dear All,

I think Amitabh Thakur does not know the meaning of word subsidized. Govt is not paying any additional amount on behalf of defense person for the liquour quota. Liquour available in CSD at lowest trade price (without local taxes, exercise duty & levies) that why it is cheaper than civil market.

I think P. Sureshan does not realise that Canteen facilities are provided to Armed Forces Personnel are mostly stationed at places THERE ARE NO 'MALLS' TO CATER FOR INDIVIDUAL DAILY NEEDS OF ARMED FORCE PERSONNEL AND THEIR FAMILIES.

Come to think of it, People in Delhi are in a way getting SUBSIDISED petrol
cooking gas etc.  What is he complaining about?

I think Sureshan P is not able to express himself. What does he want? Military people are NOT getting any subsidy. Only some tax concessions.   They get certain items of grocery and consumer items directly from the manufacturers and charge just 10% or so for handling charges and  other expenses. The surplus generated is given to the welfare fund of the Army. What is he cribbing about.Or has he mistakenly written " UNWARRANTED " instead of  Warranted. I am confused. . May we be told what  Sureshan is doing for his living !!    Seshadri

the issue of subsidy to military people is unwarranted, They deserve it , freebies to politicians , medias , general public can be objected, Any body knows how much govt spend for media?.   All spending by the govt. for sports , awards also should be completely stopped. If BCCI under private management can bring glory to cricket samed things should apply to all sports items.. Privatize all sports events ,, people will bring glory to country... Instead of picking up the issue of subsidy to army people this kind of wastage of tax payers money is to be objected..
