Re: [IAC#RG] DELHI POLICEMAN WHO STOPPED SPEEDING CAR OF DELHI DY.C M

Why can't we also observe that, at the Manish quietly allowed the challan to be handed over and did not interfere with the law, as it was taking its course.

today, it is not the policeman who does not stop, it are the people who always have someone they know in the higher-ups, that the poor policeman lets the offender go. Here Policeman, was doing his job. Manish, did not interfere. That is the greatness.

Not sure, if people realize that.

Subject: Re: [IAC#RG] DELHI POLICEMAN WHO STOPPED SPEEDING CAR OF DELHI DY.C M

I am thankful to everyone who responded to my message on Delhi policeman who stopped the speeding car of Delhi Dy. CM.  I am surprised that  some critical observations have been made about the Delhi policeman.
One observation was that policeman stopped the speeding car , since Delhi police  is not under Delhi government. Another observation  was that drivers do not listen to the passenger and therefore Dy. CM cannot be blamed.  Yet another observation was that Delhi Dy.CM was in the back seat  and can not know that the driver was over speeding. One more observation was that Dy.CM did not interfere while the driver was speaking to the policeman and  the driver paid the fine.
There is no news that Dy. CM reprimanded the driver for his offence  and the driver was an employee of Delhi government.
The essential fact  is that the policeman had the courage to stop the so called VVIP,  when his car was over speeding. Today, many of us are scared to protest against wrong doings , whether it is a minister or any other politician or a bureaucrat . Certainly, the policeman took a risk , since the Dy.CM can  take him to task in some other way, if he would so desire, even if Delhi police is not under Delhi government.
With bold and honest  acts in public life  becoming  a rare occurrence these days, it is necessary to compliment the Delhi policeman. I only wish that someone in Delhi would  organise a function to honour this trend setter. I am in Chennai.

It is extremely gratifying to know that a traffic policeman in Delhi had the courage of conviction to stop the speeding car of Delhi Dy.C.M and he issued a challan of Rs.400/- to the driver who had to pay the fine , while the Dy.C.M. simply watched helplessly. Certainly, the act of this traffic policeman need to be recognised and his act must be commended by every one who decry VIP culture in the country.
Many  feel strongly about the arrogant behaviour of so called VVIP s (very very irritating people)   and VIPs (very irritating people)  but do nothing.  They have a lesson or two to learn from this courageous Delhi traffic policeman, who now looks like a role model for other crusaders.
Why did the Delhi Dy.C.M allow his driver to drive beyond the permissible speed limit ? Is he not aware of the rule or he thought that being a Dy.C.M,  he can violate all rules. Perhaps, he thought that no traffic policeman would dare to stop his car. But, we have a traffic policeman who had the courage to do so.
Those politicians who talk about aam aadmi all the time but conduct themselves  as if they have come from heaven , should know that day is not far off when real aam aadmi would assert himself towards the cause of restoring  probity in public life and responsible behaviour amongst those in power.
