[HumJanenge] Re: No order declaring I-Day, Oct 2, Jan 26 as national festivals

Dear Urvashi-ji

Before your daughter files such RTIs perhaps she should check with the
knowledgeable RTI experts first.

26-Jan, 15-Aug, 2-Oct are HOLIDAYS (not festivals) under annual orders
issued under
Shops and Establishments Act etc. Ask your local Municipality, Labour
Inspector etc
for the said orders. Similarly, each YEAR the Central and State Govts
bring out list of National / State holidays FOR THEIR EMPLOYEES.

Your daughter Aishwarya seems to think that there is a ONE TIME order
declaring these days as holidays for all time to come. If so, (and I
dont rule it out) she should go to the National Archives to trace
these out - ie. if she can read in addition to writing.
