Re: [IAC#RG] Fwd: HAPPY NEWS FOR RTI ACTIVISTS

Dear Sir,
In state of Maharashtra, we are allowed to apply under RTI Act,2005 by  attaching the Court Revenue Stamp of Rs. 10/- and for Appeal of Rs.20/-
You may be well aware that RTI Act,2002 was first introduced in Maharashtra and we had obtained many information under said Act,prior to amendment to that Act with RTI Act,2005.
Postal Orders are not easily available in all the Post Offices. Where asCourt Revenue stamps are easily available from Stamp Vendors or from each and every Court.
Indian Postal Order is applicable only for Central Government as inserted as on 17th May,2006 vide G,S.R No. 294 (E) in rule 2,3 & 4. for payment of fee.You can deposit the said fee by Banker's Cheque or by demand draft or in Cash. The Department shall issue the Stamped Receipt for cash payment immediately.
If you wish to avail the facility available at Maharashtra ,you may ask for amendment in the RTI Act,2005.

Sir, please do some thing to get the RTI fee Rs. 50 charged by Haryana govt. reduced to Rs. 10.  keeping rs. 50 high fee shows the real intention of the govt. of haryana to deny information or make it more difficult for people to obtain information easily. also the fee be made payable  by postal orders from any where in india. rgds. beniwal

Dear Mr SL Chaudhary and Others,

I had filed a PIL before the High Court of Punjab and Haryana (HCPH) for amendment to the HCPH RTI Rules 2007 and similar rules for the subordinate judiciary. The same has been proactively taken up by Chief Justice who has referred it to the Rules Committee. I am attaching a copy of the writ petition along with annexures, as also the final order the the supplementary representation I submitted.

Commonwealth Human Rights Initiative has done an analysis of the RTI rules of the Rajasthan High Court, which you could use for the petition:

I hope it helps.
