Re: [IAC#RG] Why was Bose diminished on Republic Day? (advance copy)

In my view, Marginalizing Bose was a necessity of the handover of power of our supposed "freedom".

The same for all other "fighters" - they have vanished from this fuzzy pink freedom Gandhi gave us.

I think it is a political necessity, because if they were allowed to survive in the Indian identity, this re-colonization would have been impossible.

Where today you have the govt booking entire villages for attempted murder, sedition, and what not for basic things like fighting for their water rights being stolen as they watch or resisting nuclear plants with opaque processes and dubious safety behind them.

Do you seriously think that if the Indian identity remembered those who fought guerilla wars, created alternative Armies, challenged the might of the state with more than the standard "mombatti brigade" methods.... do you think sarkar could control people protesting nationwide for some reason or the other?

You can suppress and control people only when they will sit quiet in a corner and call agreements with you victories. If they snatched their rights when rulers refused, The government would not survive. Highly likely, the whole country would be destroyed and rebuilt.
