You call them offensive statements? Then you have not heard what all these advocates state in courts not only about defendants but also about petitioners and witnesses!
Incidentally I am shocked that the CJI has constituted a team going against its own norms laid down in Vishaka judgement! Yes, and I do believe what MLS has alleged in his petition about advocates themselves spreading rumours that this committee would be doing a white wash job.On Mon, Nov 18, 2013 at 2:46 PM, Sarbajit Roy <sroy.mb@gmail.com> wrote:
IAC was appalled to read in the ToI today some really offensive statements that the Petitioner in the case (ML Sharma) is purported to have made against ladies.

"He added that he has "learnt through ancient books which has already disclosed and established several times that (a) lady never speak (the) truth. Even for a short benefit or for revenge for denial (of) her demand she can go up to any extent for revenge. No one can control her revenge/greed. Upon disclosure of truth she puts herself as a poor helpless in the world. All empires and fight happened due to her ego and greed (sic).""
IAC promptly contacted Adv. Sharma to confirm if he had filed such rotten things, and if so IAC would intervene before the Court to defend the nation's ladies from the likes of him.
To his credit, Adv Sharma replied back promptly explaining that a journalist had further circulated an old preliminary draft (usually given in advance to them to prepare questions for a TV interview). He has provided IAC a soft copy of the final writ as filed (subject to registry objections and corrections) by him which is attached.
IAC agrees with Sharma that the evidence must be placed in public domain, such as on the website of the SC to "name them and shame them". The role of the Attorney General is once again quite dubious if what ML Sharma says is true.
The identity of the judge has been pinned down, all it requires now is for the lady to say it.
