In a very rare case of recent times, Chief CIC Deepak Sandhu has imposed maximum penalty of Rs.25,000/- on one Shri Alok Sharma,PIO/SDM/Vasant Vihar New Delhi for his failure to act as per the directions of the FAA who had directed the CPIO in favor of disclosure of information to appellant. Smt Sandhu has noted that there has been a delay of 566 days from 5 May 2012 up to the present date ie 22nd November, 2013 and hence imposed maximum penalty on the CPIO Full decision is available at the following link
