Re: [HumJanenge] ASSURANCES GIVEN IN THE LOK SABHA

There's a committee headed by maneka gandhi that enjoys the power to examine the 'assurances' given by govt in parliament. It invariably rejects govt's plea that a particular assurance should be deemed as dropped.
Its reports are available on the parliament website.

Subject: [HumJanenge] ASSURANCES GIVEN IN THE LOK SABHA

Govt. from time to time gives some assurances through Ministers to the members in the Lok Sabha.  To monitor these assurances, there is a Committee called Committee on Government Assurances.

I want to know what happens to the unfulfilled assurances after the formation of new Lok Sabha as a result of fresh general elections?

My query is whether old assurances hold good or are lapsed.

I shall be thankful if some esteemed member (s) can reply to this query.
