Can a State Government add more exemptions to Sec 8 ? The Government of Assam has specified some information  to be exempted under Sec 8 of the RTI Act - in addition to Sec 8(1)(a) to (j) - which are already there in the Act passed by Parliament. Please see: GOVERNMENT OF ASSAM

This is in addition to the items from (a) to (j) under section 8 (1) of the same Act.

2. Information relating to security arrangements in respect of individuals/ organisations/ vital installations.
3. Information relating to operations against extremists/terroris ts/insurgents/ outfits and anti-national elements.
4. Information on details of ceasefire and negotiations.
5. Identity of informers giving information on extremists, terrorists, insurgents and anti-national elements, information as regards activities and movement of extremists, terrorists, insurgent and anti-national elements.
6. Identity of officers involved in operations against extremists, terrorists, insurgent and anti-national elements.
