Re: [IAC#RG] COMPLAINT : Crushing of child at Central Sectt. and refusal of DMRC staff to give me complaint book.

Jenab Dua Sahib,

Its true, our numbers in large cities like Delhi, are unmanageable. More so where our bus services are concerned. DMRC/Metro travel is much superior -- speed & fare wise, especially where autos and taxis are concerned. Also Metro travel has been much safer than road travel as experienced over the last decade, here. Plus being air-conditioned, it is dust free.

Generally, the civility towards each other and to the senior ones in the Metro is noteworthy. i am 82 and have experienced that in recent years.
Rajiv Chowk station is unmanageable on account of a massive crowd, most of the time. Efforts under way to create other metro-stations to change on to other lines has yet to bear fruit.

The tragic event of a child getting mangled by an oncoming train, as seen & recorded by our Shri Sarbajit Roy sahib ought to make the supervisors deal with the driver concerned. And not behave as if nothing happened, which is what is reported to be happening. That is most uncivil and unobjectionable. Are the DMRC authorities suffering from a complex riddled with superiority of sorts ? They must get hauled up and provide sincere and safe services, at all times to all citizens, in particular women, children and the seniors.

Peace.

Srry for speaking out of turn here. The population of delhi,sp in the high density areas, thus the corresponding stations of Metro are the main prob areas.
Guess,we justly deserve 'gorment' departments who don't move an inch in years.

Yes, the incident mentioned by respected moderator is shocking.
Proper care and precautions are to be maintained at all times by all.

I dare say,hve used metro rail services in Paris,Hong Kong etc.
Every passenger has to find their way and infact passenger is fined when untoward happens!

In India the numbers are humongous. We need to address this to expect improvements in all areas,as well as the services of Metro.
So,to stop entry to Metro stations after a certain number is reached.
The other way would be to increase fares,as in airport metro which is not crowded at all.
Frm a regular Metro user.

This may be fwdd to dmrc.

Dear Samir

I have my video. The DMRC and CISF will have their own videos. These can be compared to each other if required.

In any case the issue is of gross DMRC metro train over-crowding and highly narrow platforms whch are causing horrific crowds and risk of accident / stampede at 3 old and core interchange Yellow Line stations ie. Rajiv Chowk, Kashmere Gate and Central Secretariat where the platforms are very narrow and the stairs / escalators are badly designed and there is ever present risk of stampede if there is a bomb threat or fire etc.

The DMRC and Commissioner of Metro Rail Safety have already given me an RTI reply that they do not have copies of any relevant regulatory standards for calculating / regulating number of passengers in trains, coaches and platforms etc. This is very surprising because the Delhi Airport Express Line was designed (but not constructed) to the prevailing international standards by Reliance, but a super-egoistic fellow called E.Sreedharan concocted his own highly compromised and slack standards to make the Yellow Line after all International agencies had flatly refused that proper stations could be constructed in the limited spaces available. The Chawri Bazaar station is a prime example of a station where all international safety norms were flouted by Sreedharan so he could earn a name as "man who gets things done in record time". For his feats of shoddy work and cutting corners on "impossible projects" he was made DMRC MD. Another feat he mastered was piling mountains of unserviceable debts onto his impossible projects (which should tip you off to the real game in these projects) for which he is known.

A similar person today in DMRC is one Sharat Sharma (presently Director Operations). This fellow has single handedly destroyed the operations and safety and quality standards of DMRC by his penny pinching to show how "efficient" he is. His latest example in pennny pinching from 1 Jan 2017 is that the lights at less used station entrances and staircases will be unofficially switched off at night since nowadays passengers can use their mobile phone torchlights to enter stations in the dark. Any station manager who records Sarbajit Roy's complaints are transferred or abused on orders of this officer. He was greatly disappointed that Shri Mangu Singh has been reappointed as MD DMRC because he was hoping that his "efficiency" would be recognised. Perhaps now he will become CMD of Akhilesh Yadav's Lucknow Metro project.

There is a very rascally "shahi" culture nowadays that Netas and PSU big shots never travel by metro rail except for photo ops where the coaches are sanitised and normal passengers are kept off the platforms / coaches. When was the last time Mr. Mangu Singh travelled by metro in a normal coach at peak hours I would like to know ?

Sirs

I refer to the incident wherein a yoing child under 1 year of age was crushed in my presence in the Yellow Line Train heading towards Jahangirpuri at Central Sectt. Metro Station yesterday (Saturday 7 January 2017) at around 7:50 PM and the train started moving despite the doors not being fully closed and after all attempts by passengers to keep the doors apart and then to prise them open thereafter. THE VIDEO RECORDING OF WHICH IS RETAINED WITH ME.

Due to various serious super-gross overloading and crowd on the very narrow platform of Yellow Line at Cent Secct and risk of stampede, I took the next Yellow Line train to Rajiv Chowk to report this incident reaching around 8 PM.

However the Station Controller at Rajiv Chowk repeatedly refused to meet me or even to provide me his name. I subsequently came to know that perhaps his name is Kuldeep. I was repeatedly refused a complant book by the Customer Care executive near the F block exit at Rajiv Chowk to record my complaint on the pretext that complaint book is only with the Station Manager who was not on duty..

It seems that DMRC has issued instruction that such safety related complaints are not to recorded in writing at stations and is encouraging on-line complaints where these safety breaches directly attributable to gross overloading and low frequency of trains on weekends can be covered up and hidden.

Kindly conduct a full enquiry into my complaint, jointly or severally, and retain all video-recordings of CISF and other DMRC security cameras.

Sir

I am constrained to complain and protest that the BURGER KING extensions onto footpath of Dhaula Kuan Metro Station are still there and not removed till date.

I am protesting that there is no safe footpath access to pedestrians generaly, and disabled and senior citizens especially to the only lift from ground level to concourse level.

Your station manager Mr. Rajesh is advising us to get off the footpath and to walk on the road (used by cars, trucks and other motor vehicles) to access this lift. This is highly unsafe and also impermissible in law.

It is therefore self-evident that there is high level corruption in DMRC to allow these illegal and recent BURGER KING extensions and cnstructions for sale of good on the public footpath which restrict access and exit to this  metro station

Accordingly, I request that disciplinary and viglance action be immediately initiated against the DMRC Director and other DMRC officials responsible for Property Development in DMRC under intimation to me.

I am also protesting that there is a strong and offensive non-vegeterian smell emanating out of this new BURGER KING restaurant at Dhaula Kuan station which is highly offensive to me.

sincerely

Sir

I am constarined to complain that DMRC's Property Development dept. has allowed construiction of various extensions and encroachments on foot path by Burger King and other eateries at Dhaula Kuan Airport Express Metro Station.

The safe access of commuters and disabled commuters to the lift on the ground floor is blocked thereby.

It seems you have willfully flouted the safety inspection carried out by the Metro Rail Safety Commissioner when he allowed this station to be opened for carriage of the public.

I therefore call upon you to immediately inquire into the matter and see that full and safe access is avaliable to all commuters, especially disabled, to all the elevators within next 48 hours at this station.

sincerely
