This has reference to the media news placed below.
"CLEAN , NEW SABARMATI 2011' S GIFT TO OUR CITY"
This is a good news for the citizens of Ahmedabad & particularly to the ones residing near to river bank.
In this regard, kindly be informed that the effluent discharged by industry and sewage that has been from flowing into the river Sabarmati for ages and polluting the water / environment of Ahmedabad should have long back been stopped.
That did not happen earlier for whatever reasons but now when it is going to be there, that would also help the proposed projects of floating restaurant in the river etc. and riverfront development, it is imperative that the principle of "Polluters Pay" is applied to the proposed mega pipeline.
According, AMC may kindly take up the matter of laying & also maintenance of the mega pipelines to treatment plant at Vasna-Pirana by the Industries that have been polluting the river and area.
Tax-Payers money should not be used for cleaning the dirt created all these years by the polluting Industries who remain liable for criminal negligence / for violating various Laws on water pollution, air pollution, environment polluton etc. ( http://envfor.nic.in/legis/legis.html)
Action taken on larger public interest grievance may kindly be intimated at your earliest.
