Yes, there have been a few discussions. But certainly not on any Yahoo! Groups so far ;-)
 
Did you note the conclusion - "A key or combination of keys ... could have possibily deleted the entire paragraph".  You do not have to be a rocket scientist to understand and read between the lines, what this means.
 
Off topic. If access to this word file it allowed, its still possible to find out when the accident took, on what date, which PC & who was the user. I am no match to the moderators skill on reverse engineering, but was conversant with "underground" word star (when it was king of the wordprocessors during the MS DOS era); undocumented features of Word Perfect (pre Windows OS) etc. Like wise MS Word (including Open Office) has a few secrets too.
