[HumJanenge] IC SS rules Sundry Debtor details not personal informatiom.

In an interesting matter of an RTI Application filed Shri Aseem Takyar seeking information on complete information containing details, particulars and amount figure of each sundry debtors of 'Indian Airlines" the CIC had ruled that "The entire information which you are seeking through the letter under reference apparently has no larger public interest whatsoever and relates to third party, the disclosure of which is exempted under section 8(1)(j) of the RTI Act."

Unfortunately for the CPIO of National Aviation Company of India Ltd. IC Sushma Singh did not buy their story. She ruled in the favor of disclosure.

"The Commission is of the opinion that information containing "details,
particulars and amount figure of each sundry debtor" as requested by the
appellant in his RTI application cannot be termed as 'personal information' of any person."

So, even after six years of RTI Act 2005, the senior officers of the now unstable airlines org. (Indian Airlines / AIR India) have not lowered their cloak of secrecy. From the way the things are moving in this sector, more and more public interested citizens will soon enter the "Chamber of Secrets" and expose skeletons in the cupboards.
