Re: [rti_india] Auto/Taxi -Campaign-12 Aug

dear all .
instead of showing agitation against cab drivers why not gherao RTO officers ???

why not ask 500 RTI's to RTO asking information on action taken reports against rude cab driver s ???

plz consider my idea. it is easy and more effective . let us ask 500 rti's on action taken report .

let me know how members think about my idea.
regards

Respected all,

I do agree with the point raised in below mail. And I am not denying to do all of things which lead to improve our life being as mumbaiker. But prior to going for any action if that is not influenced by any party or somethinglike that do anybody think will going to improve mumbaiker life?

Did any body has oberved and saw what happened after the whole nation on "bandh"  in last month? Did the purpose solved for what it has been called instead we lost 120 million dollar business due to that. And still the price rise on high. Have anybody think being protestent to taxi cab or rickshaw are they going to suffer or common people. Its not matter of one day problem but if you really think to remove the problem of mumbaiker firstly we should think how we can be a good citizen. I am not blaming to anybody but we all are part of present india and responsible whatever we are doing and its consequence as directly/indirectly contributor.

I can understand the problem the mumbaiker are facing but few people only think about their problem (personal) not as whole and not even think prior to taking action its consequences.

So in short i would requst you do whatever you can to improve life of common mumbaiker which includes not only rickshaw or cab driver but also those people where we all belongs to it. So today's action will determined out future.

Jai maharashtra

Please circulate this to all Mumbaikars on your email list. Thanks

AGNI Appeal!

"SAY NO! TO TAXI / AUTO"
on August 12

An end to the uncaring, abusive exploiters at our cab and auto stands! AGNI
believes we should refuse to take a taxi or auto on Thursday, 12th August as a
protest. Car-pool! Take a bus or train! Let's join the METER JAM CAMPAIGN called
by three city ad-folk against cab / auto drivers who refuse /
overcharge commuters and others. Let's show them we have "un-fare" methods, too.

AGNI [Action for good Governance & Networking in India] is a citizen movement
working for a better quality of life in Mumbai – and responsible cab / auto
drivers are a part of it.

Under the Motor Vehicle's Act / Rules, once the meter shows "For Hire," no taxi
/auto can refuse to take a citizen wherever s/he wants.  All too often, this
writ does not run and none of the Unions are able to discipline their member
drivers.

AGNI appeals to all Mumbaikars to extend their full support to this campaign on
12th  August.  One day's sacrifice will speak the only language that cab / auto
drivers and their Union leaders understand.

Further, AGNI appeals to Mumbaikars, after the METER JAM CAMAPIGN, simply to
enter and sit down inside a cab / auto with a "For Hire" flag showing. Only then
tell him where you want to go, not earlier.  If the driver makes trouble, call
the RTO HELPLINE 1800-22-0110. Give the place and vehicle number on your cell
phone, also driver's name if possible. Ask to be taken to the nearest Police
Station.

Plz co-operate
