Considering the controversy attached to this appointment, I seriously doubt if Mr Tiwari would hanker to be appointed as CIC just for a few days.
In any case, and as is well known in the bureaucracy (if not amongst the citizenry) Tiwari-ji was requested to stay on as Secy DoPT (for a few weeks) by the PM to ensure that the RTI Act (his baby) was successfully conceived. We forget now that all the RTI Rules were also essentially drafted by ANT and his team at DoPT, and that DoPT had to
put its own RTI house in order to handle the avalanche of RTI requests from the babucracy.
