I agree wholeheartedly with what Vijay has so succinctly articulated.
Firstly, we are repeatedly making ourselves look incapable when we make the familiar jingoistic statements and then proceed to do nothing, except spew venom on Times Now and on the ramparts as well as the print media.
Armchair tin soldiers who have not faced the reality and heat of battle can keep fighting for TRPs on electronic media - that will at best galvanise public opinion but won't solve the problem.
We have to hit at a time and place of our choosing - and that is best left to deep strategic thought - not whatever has been on offer recently. It smacks of stale impotence and failure. Perhaps, we need to tap in to thought beyond that of the policemen turned strategists.

Pls stop being ridiculous. The response when it happens has to be calculated to cause Pakistan much hurt so that they think twice next time before sending terrorist over the LOC. The action has to be professionally executed.Policemen cannot evacuate a bunch of hawkers neither does Doval have the vision although of course he is NSA, and a top policeman.Experience cool innovative thinking is required. Also the media has to come in later so as not to compromise surprise action as they did in Mumbai!A concerted effort is needed.

The pay of defence forces in 7th pay commission is lower than the police. So why should the defences forces lay down lives Let Dhavol fight and free POK and liberate Balochistan

First Pathankot and now Uri .
- Was it a complete failure of intelligence coupled with procedural slipups ?
- Or, is Parrikar as incompetent / interfering as Kejriwal & Co ?
- And, is it time for serious and sober debate followed by calibrated response(s) ?
- Finally, should Doval be sacked and the foolishly jingoistic Doval doctrine scrapped ?
