I Am sorry to state That in an Article Published in Todays"BANGALORE MIRROR "
a TABLOID OF THE TIMES GROUP Information Commissioner S J virupakshaiah has Given a statement " THE PROBLEM IS THAT THERE ARE TOO MANY RTI ACTIVISTS WHO APPEAL ON PETTY ISSUES . DUE TO THIS , THE COMMISSION ENDS UP DELAYING HEARINGS FOR NEEDY PEOPLE'
This is an Direct attack and Slur on all of us who Are Crusaders fighting to Ensure that RTI get Institutionalized in the country more particularly in the Our state for good governance . I feel that this may be an Back door entry for amending the Act on grounds of "FRIVOLOUS & VEXATIOUS .
through this email I request very humbly all friends to react Immediatly directly to the concerned State Information Commissioner on his E-mail : sicjv_kic@karnataka.gov.in or his Fax 080-22342081 or his land line 08022342277 asking how he arrived at these conclusions because section 12 to 15 of the Act Does not even Provide for the Information Commissions to recognize , Identify , accredit any person as RTI ACTIVIST .
Please also demand the Basis and Statistics and if available the Names of Persons which enabled Sri Virupakshaiah to come out with such an Sweeping remark & statement
