Re: [rti_india] RTI activists say its OK to bribe / reward public servants for doing their job.

We are supposed to use RTI, mostly, to collect information from the corrupt system in which individuals happens to be responsible to furnish the same. In a way RTI is, to me, a tool to fight the wrong doings in it.

But the slow but steady progress appear to be hampered when individual matters more than the group and purpose! This necessitate us to fight these individuals first, conquer and then fight the system. We need to mutually solve our differences without giving an appearance that the members themselves are fighting to subdue each other because one's knowledge is more or pause as to who is big? May be the authorities want us to fight among ourself blunting the strength of RTI. Our group itself  becomes a mini Government under which we suffer. Some off the people appear to even use vulgar and abusive language in this site to establish their superiority. Under the circumstances RTI should be made applicable to our group itself. RTI or for that matter no act emphasize  the  need for every one to be well versed in  legal matters and  if someone is good at it it should not be used to belittle one another, implying  "I know every thing". In the process I am afraid common man who struggle to make both eds meet, appear to  have no place in our system, they are rather embarrassed if not dread to make their comments! We need to introspect and deliberate and work for the purpose setting aside importance to people. Respect has to be earned not demanded!

They are moderating mails. Damn the group which doesn't allow people to say what they want.
I don't know if this mail would reach you all. About bribing officials, I would say let's file legal suit, if sarbajit n gang has proofs about funding for the awards and the organisation.

nice to see that in spite of the content of sarbajit's mails, people still fall prey to anything coming from him.

btw, fail to understand why is my id not be removed inspite of open request to do so. is it that sarbajit and the group are too audience hungry to let even a single man go...?

A few days back I (along with almost every serious RTIer in the country) received a letter signed by a well known activist who is engaged in the whole time activity of identifying and corrupting public servants with foreign funds.

The openly declared objectives of his organisation, whose funding corpus is originally from a well known CIA front organisation, is to "reward" public servants for doing their public duty/job. This of course is in addition to what the cash-strapped State pays such impoverished (after 6th pay commission) officers.

What greatly disturbed me is the enclosure to that communication, which declares that other well-known RTI activists (and I use the term activist for want of an alternative) like Manoj Kamra, Manoj Pai, C J Karira, Vikram Simha, Shekhar Singh, etc are also part of this effort to bribe public servants to do their job. In my personal capacity I can only denounce such reprehensible activities and the persons (either knowingly or unwittingly) associated with this corrupt and anti-citizen venture.
