Re: [rti_india] Prime Minister - "More top officials speak out on Raja" - What action Govt has taken so far against the IAS Officers failing in their Fundamental Duty as Citizen to stop corruption in IPL or CWG or 2G or Adarsh Scam?

I wonder where do all these so called Joint Parliamentary Committee (JPC) probes end up. These committees come up only when the scams are exposed and the results die a natural death....I always wonder whatever happened to these JPC reports?? No wonder the media especially the news channels are only interested in their TRP ratings and what matters for the day. They don't have any moral responsibility of carrying out or completing the errand till the finish.  So far in all I have not seen one channel do a complete investigation once they expose some scam. Once these scams are tabled in the parliament and a JPC probe takes charge, that's it, no more followups are taken up by the media...don't they have any interest or the zeal to follow up and conclude a task taken up??? Don't the media feel responsible?? Is it only the citizens that need to take up the baton to fight against the evil (corruption, poverty, crime....) of the society???

Prime Minister,

GOI, New Delhi

Dear Sir,

This has reference to the media news:

More top officials speak out on Raja

A day after former Department of Telecommunications (DoT) Secretary D S Mathur blew the whistle on Telecom Minister A Raja — first reported by The Financial Express and The Indian Express on Saturday — other officials involved in the matter started to open up.

Mathur's successor Siddhartha Behura, who signed the files relating to the grant of licences, said, "I only implemented the decision taken by the Minister in the fairest possible manner, as there was no alternative.

While media news, allegations and counter-allegations in 2G Scam is pouring in, the fact remains that Dr Manmohan Singh as the UPA Govt Prime Minister, alongwith the EGoM Union Minister, remain the prime accused for FCFS basis Spectrum allocation but neither  Mass Media nor Opposition or CBI nor Delhi High Court nor Supreme Court has considered it prudent to point finger at the real culprits and Mr Ashwani Kumar Director CBI continues to ignore my repeated pleas in this regard for the reasons best known to him. Correspondence is available in public domain (http://xrl.us/bhviu8).

Notwithstanding my observations on the specific case of 2G Scam, I wish to bring to your kind attention the following from the Constitution of India that is well-known to all IAS Officers also.

"To safeguard public property is one of the Fundamental Duties prescribed by the Constitution of the nation under PART [IV-A] to its every citizen" (http://xrl.us/bh7r9a).

That being the case, in the context of the recently published world famous financial frauds & corruption of mammoth size involving big-wigs of India whether pertaining to IPL or 2G or CWG or Adarsh Society, can we know what action the Govt has taken against the IAS Officers well positioned at Secretary level throughout the country for their utter failure in their Fundamental Duty to stop corruption that was known to them very well and could have stopped it also.

When they had easy access to CVC, CBI, ED and even Prime Minister as also Higher Judiciary including Supreme Court, did they bring the details of corruption taking shape to the notice of these empowered authorities to stop it before public money brazenly swallowed?

If no action has been taken by the Govt as yet, please let us know what action is now contemplated against these high-ranking IAS Officers at Joint Secretary, Additional Secretary and Secretary to GOI & Chief Secretaries to the State Govts level?

Has any circular been issued by PMO to all IAS Officers to bring such  corruption in offing to the notice of CVC, Prime Minister & President of India to stop them?

Regards,
