[rti_india] Re: Fwd: Letter to Prime Minister’s Office by Ambassador of India in US:--Illega

Sarabjit ji,

1)The letter by the Indian Ambassador to US is dated May 12, 2009. But if the info is available in private channels, we will not know abt it.

2) I feel all the four pillars of our democracy are corroded / rusted & crumbling & an ordinary citizen like me, cannot do much. In my view, the ruling party has become extremely arrogant & opposition almost not existing, they do not at all care about ordinary citizens, environment, animals of our country. They are leading the country towards man made disasters ( in terms of financial, food, environmental etc.)

(Pl. take into account the following :-
Environmental accidents:

Jaipur Fire – how much CO / Co2 was emitted in short span of about a week

Bhopal Gas Leak- Victims still suffering, soil/ water still contaminated

Nuclear leak in drinking water – our Oxford UK educated PM calls it a minor incident.

Oil spill at Paradeep – Media keeping very very quite about it

Others—

Our PM is preferring foreign tours( US , Caribbean & Russia, Copenhagen) to facing the winter session in parliament.

Satyam, Sh. Madhu Koda, NTPC scandal, Reddy brothers mining activity in AP all show an pot of control country.

Huge pending cases in our courts- As per Justice Bilal Nazki CJ Orrisa HC- Criminals since 1988 are still pending in the Bombay high court as no judge is interested in reading the case.

SC judges unanimously deciding to challenge the decision of the high court of Delhai regarding their assets )

A lot of people I have been talking to are having a feeling we are living under a kind of foreign rule , utterly insensitive to the needs of ordinary people. They are already talking about having alternate government in the current legal framework!

Unfortunately it is not in my nature to give up.

My further course of action is to pass on this info to as many people as I can, who know some of these American & Indian companies( in fact already done that.) These people are planning to put RTI queries to Indian railways, Mahrashtra Electricity board, Indian Raliways to see if they can get the names of the individuals involved. One of my friends is trying to get the issue of Maharashtra Electricity Board raised in the current winter session of Maharashtra vidhan parishad/ write to CVC about it. Also planning to pass it on to my friends in US to see if they can get more info about the same using local laws(FOI?).

I am waiting for a complete reply to my RTI application , ie similar feedback/ letters recd by Indian officials being bribed by foreign firms, countries, written and / or forwarded by Indian Embassy officials in other countries. This part of my application has been forwarded to Ministry of external affairs by the PMO.

Once I get that I will decide my further course of action.

3) If Infosys is doing it , it is wrong on their part. This will not work on a long term basis. We have population we are not able to sustain & all of us will have to suffer the consequences for it.

Many thousands of jobs are dependent back in India on their securing foreign Govt contracts. These contracts can only be got by bribing foreigners. What would Mr Narayan Murthy (the great God of RTI touts) do ? Do you now realise why they finance silly little RTI activists to keep their mouth shut and ensure that we don't have laws like FCPA in India.
