[rti_india] Re: RTI on Haj

Dear Ajay,

1) I fail to see any link between "long waiting list of RTI applicants" and "Haj Committee" and subsidies to Muslims.

2) Everyone is free to file as many RTIs as they want. Unfortunately such people (habitual RTIers) do not realise the damage it is doing the nation and governance. The advice was about posting to this group.

3) So you only have data on Haj Pilgrims from Maharashtra then? Are
you aware that there is a Central Haj Committee of India under the MEA, and 2 other MEA Committees on improving the Central Haj Committee ?

5) It is only info. I am not in the habit of issuing hollow threats.

6) Please feel free to continue posting here, we all stand to benefit from the experience of our veteran RTIers and members.

7) On section 4:
"4(1)Every public authority shall—
(b) publish within one hundred and twenty days from the enactment of this Act,—
:
viii) a statement of the boards, councils, committees and other bodies consisting of two or more persons constituted as its part or for the purpose of its advice, and as to whether meetings of those boards, councils, committees and other bodies are open to the public, or the minutes of such meetings are accessible for public;
:
xi) the budget allocated to each of its agency, indicating the particulars of all plans, proposed expenditures and reports on disbursements made;
:
(xii) the manner of execution of subsidy programmes, including the amounts allocated and the details of beneficiaries of such programmes;

... much information suo motu to the public at regular intervals through various means of communications, including internet, so that the public have minimum resort to the use of this Act to obtain information."

Almost every query of yours on Haj should be answered automatically without your even asking. Or do you subscribe to the view (M.M Ansari and Gandhi) that info is only to be given to those who ask for it ?
